Applying for a UK passport in Malaysia

Where to apply

If you wish to submit the passport application in person, you may submit your passport application at:

Consular Section
British High Commission
185 Jalan Ampang
50450 Kuala Lumpur

You may also send your passport application to us by post and the passport application can be sent to the above address.

Payment of fees

The passport fee(s) should be paid in postal order, money order or banker’s draft made payable to the “British High Commission”.

Additional RM 10 should be included as postage fee if you wish for your new passport to be returned to you by post.

If you are sending your passport application by post, please do not put cash in the post. The British High Commission cannot be responsible for any cash or packages being lost in post.

Opening hours

The Consular Section is open at the following hours for submission of passport application and for collection of passport:

Monday to Tuesday
0800 - 1200 (submission of application & collection of passport)
1330 - 1600 (only for collection of passport)

Wednesday to Friday
0800 - 1200 (submission of application & collection of passport)

What to submit

To submit a UK passport renewal application in Malaysia you must submit:

·          Your completed application form

·          Your 2 passport photographs

·          Your supporting original documents (e.g. Certificate of Registration/ Naturalisation)

·          Your previous passport

·          The correct fee in Ringgit Malaysia

Processing your passport application

All standard renewal applications take 10 working days (not inclusive of submission day and postal delivery time) to process and we do not provide fast track service.

As for first time passport application, we will process the application within 4 weeks from the date we receive the application.

We will not be able to process your application or there may be a delay issuing your passport if:
 

  • You have used the wrong form or completed it incorrectly
  • You do not provide the correct fee
  • You do not provide sufficient supporting documents
