Our services to business include advice, introductions and market research. We support British exporters, joint ventures and two-way investment. British business visitors, the majority from small and medium-sized companies new to the Malaysian market, call at the High Commission for market information and assistance. Trade Missions from the UK and sponsored trade exhibitors are also a feature, bringing new British companies to Malaysia.

UKTI is closely involved with the British Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and we keep in touch with the major British companies established in the market. UKTI regularly visit local British companies around Malaysia as well as assisting the many local companies who call at the High Commission

UK-Malaysia bilateral trade is very helpful.  Malaysia is the UK's second largest market in ASEAN after Singapore.  In 2008 Malaysian exports to the UK were £1.84 billion a 7% increase over the 2007 figure of £1.72 billion. And UK exports to Malaysia also showed a healthy increase reaching a total of £1.14 billion a 19% lift from the 2007 export figure of £954 million. Figures for trade in services take longer to process but total services trade between the UK and Malaysia in 2007 was £674 million, with the UK exporting £443 million of services to Malaysia and £231 million going in the other direction.
